Dilemmas and Decisions (or my last full day in Wellington)
Saturday morning also saw the house awakening slowly before I was picked up by
cowboynz, hubby and bubby :). A late breakfast (or more correctly early lunch) followed the drive around the southern bays of Wellington I hadn't seen already. Then we walked for a bit as the little one set off dertminedly *away* from the car. After some rocks and some beach and some swinging, I was dropped off at Frisbee practice where
stephanie_pegg and others were working on the art of the forehand throw. Plus the sun stayed out and much fun was had.
Then we retired back to the house and some calling around was done to finally try and find garb for me. At the point where it seemed that all the avenues had proved fruitless, I remembered an old mate whose wife is a serious sewer and whose (his/not hers) garb I probably would fit, so I called him up. I was also starting to feel a lot run down so after a little thought, I decided to not go to the feast and just hang with my mate instead. About 10 minutes after this decision, I got a text saying that garb would be waiting for me at the feast.
DOH! and what to do. I tried calling back my mate but he'd already left for the 20 minute drive to come and pick me up. After some agonising, I decided to stick with my decision and spent the rest of the afternoon and the early evening hanging with him, his loverly wife and another dude. Much shooting of breeze and a yummy chilli was consumed.
Lastly for the evening, I was dropped back in town and caught up with
whitsunday at her place before ehading off to the Odessa concert. Spent the first set enjoying the music and being appalled by the manners of people who seemed to think it was their right to push forward through the crowd. Luckily I'd already decided that I could stand to be more accepting about personal space intrusions and so held ground and disconcerted them. Still it did mean that seeing the band on stage was difficult at time. As the second set began, the group of us had retired to the back of the venue and I decided I was done for the day so I headed off. Arrived back at Norman's to catch the boys just heading off to bed so thanked them for the hospitality and crawled into bed myself.
Between the birds and the sun, I was awake in plenty of time for the taxi to the airport and, upon instruction, went a gave
nz_swordmaiden one last hug when the taxi arrived. Also enjoyed the flight back.
Holiday done.
